Rocky
River High School (RRHS) will welcome students and staff from our
Spanish sister school Federico Garcia Lorca High School on Wednesday
morning. During this welcome, our guests will meet with representatives
from the Cuyahoga County Board of Health to review ways to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, including Coronavirus (COVID-19) and flu.
You can find that information linked here.
Our
Spanish counterparts will spend Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at RRHS. For
the remainder of their stay, the group will visit and explore many of
the sights around the region.
The health, safety, and welfare of our students and staff remain the top priorities of the Rocky River City School District. We
will continue to follow the guidance provided by our county health
department when making school-related decisions surrounding COVID-19, or
any matter of public health.
If you have questions or concerns please contact my office at 440-356-6715.
Sincerely,

March 3, 2020
Rocky River High School (RRHS) will be hosting students from Federico Garcia Lorca High School, located in Madrid, Spain, from March 3-11, 2020. This is the third time RRHS will host students from our Spanish sister school as it is an integral part of the high school’s Bridge to the World program. Our Spanish counterparts will be participating in a number of activities that include attending classes and events at RRHS as well as exploring all that Cleveland has to offer.
The
health, safety, and welfare of our students and staff remain the
paramount priorities of the Rocky River City School District. We will
utilize all available information from the U.S. Department of State and
the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding travel to
and from Spain. We will also follow the guidance provided by our county
health department when making school-related decisions surrounding
COVID-19, or any matter of public health.
There
are currently no CDC travel warnings relating to travel to or from
Spain. We realize that conditions and circumstances may change rapidly,
and we are monitoring the situation very closely.
We
have obtained assurances from the Federico Garcia Lorca High School
administration that all 14 students and two staff members visiting Rocky
River are healthy and able to travel to the United States.
If you have questions or concerns please contact my office at 440-356-6715.
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael G. Shoaf
