MISSION

To recognize persons who have excelled significantly in one of four classifications: Athletics, Academics, Distinguished Alumnus or Distinguished Citizen.

CLASSIFICATIONS OF RECOGNITION

ATHLETIC
Goal: To recognize and honor RRHS student-athletes, participating in OHSAA sanctioned sports, for having met specified criteria for induction during their high school tenure.

Induction Criteria:
• Individual Recognition: 1st or 2nd Place in State or National Competition
• Team Recognition: 1st or 2nd Place in State or National Competition

Nominations of other exceptional individual or team athletic achievements will be reviewed for possible selection/induction. Candidates become eligible for nomination five years after their RRHS graduation date. Candidates must be formally nominated by another person, named and not related to the nominee, via the nomination form.

ACADEMIC
Goal: To recognize and honor RRHS students, upon graduation, for having met specified criteria for induction during their high school tenure.

Induction Criteria:
• Individual Recognition: National Merit Scholarship Competition Finalist
• 1st or 2nd Place in State or National Competition Group Recognition: 1st or 2nd Place in State or National Competition

Nominations of other exceptional individual or group academic achievements will be considered for possible selection / induction. Candidates become eligible for nomination five years after their RRHS graduation date. Candidates must be formally nominated by another person, named and not related to the nominee, via the nomination form.

DISTINGUISHED ALUMNUS
Goal: To recognize and honor alumni who have achieved local, state or national recognition for accomplishments in their occupational field, made significant contributions to their fellow man and/or performed meritorious service for their country.

Eligibility Criteria:
• Candidates must be formally nominated by another person, named and not
related to nominee, via the nomination form.
• Candidates become eligible 20 years after their RRHS graduation date.
• Candidates must have achieved local, state or national recognition for
achievement in their occupational field, made significant contributions to their fellow man or performed meritorious service for the country.

Selection Criteria:
• Formal nominations received by the Selection Committee will be considered and voted upon for induction to the Hall of Fame.

DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN
Goal: To recognize and honor leaders, educators, coaches, advisors and others who have provided meritorious service and/or made significant contributions that enhanced and enriched the Rocky River City Schools.

Eligibility Criteria:
• Candidates must be formally nominated by another person, named and not
related to nominee, via the nomination form.
• Candidates must have made significant contributions or provisions to
enhance/enrich the well being of Rocky River students and the Rocky River School District.

Selection Criteria:
• Formal nominations received by the Selection Committee will be
considered and voted upon for induction to the Hall of Fame.Candidates must be formally nominated by another person, named and not
related to nominee, via the nomination form.
• Candidates must have made significant contributions or provisions to
enhance/enrich the well being of Rocky River students and the Rocky River School District.

Selection Criteria:
• Formal nominations received by the Selection Committee will be considered and voted upon for induction to the Hall of Fame.

Nominations
Candidates may be nominated for consideration in one of the four RRHS Hall of Fame Classifications: Academic, Athletic, Distinguished Alumnus or Distinguished Citizen. Nominations will be considered annually and must be received by March 15th to receive consideration by the Selection Committee. Nominations received after the March 15th deadline will be considered the following year.

Nominations will be reviewed and verified by designated representatives of the Selection Committee. All nominees will be notified and asked to update their background information prior to being voted upon by the Selection Committee.

Verification
All reasonable means will be used to verify information submitted for each nominee. Information that cannot be verified will not be considered.

Voting
The Selection Committee will vote by written, confidential ballot. A 2/3 majority vote of the committee will be required for induction of any candidate into the Hall of Fame. If not selected, such persons will remain eligible for consideration the following year. Thereafter, to be considered, a new nomination must be filed with the committee.

Induction
Formal ceremonies honoring the Hall of Fame inductees will be held annually in the fall.
    
Annual Due Date for Nominations* - March 15
Annual Spring Selection Date - April 1
Notice of Selections to Nominees - June 15
Annual Hall of Fame Induction Date - TBA

*Not applicable to athletic and academic inductees for whom nominations are not required.
