Garden Adopt-a-Garden
RRMS would like to invite you to sign up to take care of the school garden during the summer months. We ask that you sign up for ONE week, so it allows others to help throughout the summer. The schedule will begin the week of June 9th through week of July 28th. Please email Emily Damer at damer.emily@rrcs.org with any questions. Sign up here using the family name. Basic responsibilities would include watering, picking any weeds, and keeping the area clean. A more detailed description will be sent to emails at a date closer to summer.

GeoBee Champion GeoBee
Congratulations to 8th grader and school GeoBee champion, Evan Lei, who has qualified for the state round of the National Geographic Geography Bee. Evan will take his geographic talents south of Columbus, specifically Winchester Trail Elementary School, which is slightly beyond Columbus, where he will compete against other Ohio middle school students on Friday March 29th. 
Stop the Hate Essay Winners Stop The Hate Essay Contest
The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage announced the top 25 finalists for the 11th annual Stop the Hate Youth Speak Out essay writing contest. RRMS 8th grade students Gigi Konrad and Gianna Miller are finalists in the contest. The annual contest gives student a platform to use their voices to speak out against hate and stand up for inclusion. The prestigious contest offers students the chance to win individual scholarship money. The winners will be named live at the award ceremony on March 14th at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Congratulations and best of luck to Gigi and Gianna! 
Logo Northwestern University's Midwest Academic Talent Search
High achieving students in grades 7 and 8 are eligible to take the SAT or ACT with area high school students. This opportunity is offered through Northwestern University’s Center for Talent Development. Students who achieved a level of Advanced on the Ohio State Tests or who have received a 90% or higher on Terra Nova tests are eligible. In order to have Rocky River Middle School receive a copy of your child’s SAT or ACT scores, the following RRMS I.D. should be entered on the registration form: 8501690. In Rocky River math classes grades K-12, our teachers seek to develop a variety of math expertise in our students surrounding 8 Standards for Mathematical Practice. 
Little Free Library

The Little Free Library movement has officially come to Rocky River Middle School! Little Free Libraries are quickly becoming a global phenomenon as there are currently over 36,000 of these small, front-yard book exchanges in over 70 countries around the world. Now, a Little Free Library is officially open to the public at RRMS. The students and staff at RRMS are encouraged to join the movement by taking, sharing books, and exchanging reading materials through our Little Free Library. This will help contribute to a community of readers in Rocky River. We welcome your continued support in fostering the literacy of both children and adults around the world, and in our very own community.

Our Little Free Library (Charter #46691) is the first one of its kind in Rocky River. This very special addition to our community was made possible by the RRMS PTA and with the help of the RRMS Builder’s Club. The generosity of both the staff and students at Rocky River Middle School has also made this Little Free Library a success.
