March 22, 2020
Dear Parents and Guardians:
As we prepare to begin week two of the Extended School Closure on Monday, I wanted to share a few reminders and notes.
- Per the Stay at Home Order that was introduced today by Governor DeWine and the Ohio Department of Health, the Rocky River City School District will be closed through April 6, 2020.
- Assignments for week two (March 23-27) can be found on the district and building websites.
- For Beach preschool, your child's teacher will email activities.
- If you are interested in receiving lunch for your child(ren) this week (March 23-27) and have not yet submitted an online order, please visit this link for more information and to submit an order. Orders for this week are due by 9:00am on Monday, March 23 and the drive through meal pick-up is between 12:00pm-1:30pm on Monday, March 23 at Rocky River Middle School.
- As a reminder, parents/guardians may fill out an application for free or reduced lunch (RRHS/RRMS) and free milk (GPS/KIS) at any time. For immediate processing please use the secure lunchapp.com web site. Applications will be processed during the extended school closure and the benefits will carry through the end of the year. These benefits will also cover meals we are serving during the extended school closure. If you have any questions about this, please email Nutrition Services Supervisor Tina Wasserbauer ([email protected]).
- The Lake Road Market will be partnering with Rocky River neighbors Danny Boy’s Pizza and Gourmet Guy Cafe to offer a free meal to anyone in need on Thursday, March 26. Danny Boy's will be offering a medium pizza, and Gourmet Guy Cafe will use ingredients donated by Lake Road Market to make a paprikash and broccoli meal. A drive-up line will be set-up in front of Lake Road Market (20267 Lake Road) and meals will be handed out to those in need beginning at 5:00pm. It will be limited to one meal per car and will stop when food runs out.
Thank you for your continued support of the Rocky River City School District.
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael G. Shoaf
Superintendent
