About The District

Rocky River, Ohio is a residential suburb west of Cleveland with a population of 20,000. Bordered by Lake Erie on the north and the Rocky River and the Cleveland Metroparks on the east, the city’s unique location provides multiple opportunities for outdoor recreation, yet easy access to downtown Cleveland.

With an enrollment of around 2,700 in grades K-12, the Rocky River City School District provides students with the benefits of a small-school setting and all the resources of a larger school district.  Long known for its tradition of academic quality, the District received the Overall 'A' Award on the latest State Report Card (2019), showing that Rocky River students continue to excel academically.  Nearly 92-percent of Rocky River High School Class of 2023 graduates continued on to colleges or universities across the country. The Rocky River City Schools are consistently ranked in the prestigious Top-10 List of Cleveland Area Schools in Cleveland Magazine. The National Blue Ribbon Schools award was earned by Kensington Intermediate School in 2011 and by Rocky River High School in 2012 and 2020.
