August 28 - Communication

August 28, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians:

The first day of school for students in the Rocky River City School District (RRCSD) is on Monday, August 31, and while the school year will begin with remote learning, we remain committed to providing a high-quality educational experience for all students.

We welcomed teachers and staff back to the buildings on Tuesday and began the 2020-2021 school year with a Virtual Convocation. All teachers and staff used the remainder of the week to meet, plan and attend professional development. Many teachers and staff also took part in professional development opportunities over the summer. It was a pleasure to see our educators back in the classroom this week.

Parents/guardians and students should have received an email from their buildings this week about how to log into classes on Monday morning. For further instructions on how to log into your child’s Clever and Google Classroom accounts, please click here to view an information sheet and video instructions.

With school starting on Monday, our Friday communication will return to the weekly video and district highlights. Over the coming weeks, we will continue to provide important updates from our health officials about COVID-19 and communicate any changes to our instructional models. As always, the health, safety and well-being of our students, teachers, staff and community will be at the forefront of our decisions.

Please visit the district website and the Rr 20/20 Vision website for news, information and resources.

Thank you for your support of the Rocky River City School District.

Sincerely,

Dr. Michael G. Shoaf
Superintendent
