National Merit Semi-Finalists
Six senior students have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their academic achievements. Recognized as "Semi-Finalists" are: Anne Cipriani, Rachel Fagerhaug, Konrad Katterle, Kyle Moore, Aidan O'Donnell, and Anna Weixel. Each year, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation selects the top 50,000 students based on their Preliminary SAT (PSAT) test. Of these 50,000 students, 16,000 are chosen as semifinalists. This exceptional accolade is the result of a grueling process conducted by NMSC which reviews over 1.5 million entries. This accomplishment is a reflection of the hard work, talent, and discipline these six students bring to Rocky River High School. They are among the top 1% of all test takers. Congratulations to each of these exceptional seniors!
RRCSD Quality Profile
On September 14, more than 60 school districts throughout Ohio have released, for the second consecutive year, a more comprehensive companion to the state’s district report card. Called a “Quality Profile,” the report includes additional accountability measures that define a high quality education and are not captured by the state report card. Since the state’s release date has been moved to later in the year because of changes made to the state testing program, the profile will provide communities with their first look at current information to assist them in assessing district progress.
PPG Industries Foundation Awards $10K Grant to RRHS Makerspace
In August, the Rocky River High School Makerspace was awarded a $10,000 grant by PPG Industries Foundation.  Funds from the grant will be used to purchase a digital circuit printer, circuitry kits, robotics, a digital research microscope and a stereomicroscope. Rob Laskowski, an employee of PPG Industries and RRCSD parent, was instrumental in working with District personnel to apply for and receive the grant.
