Spirit of Giving
Rocky River students, employees, friends and family have the true spirit of giving in their hearts. The students in Ms. Baddour's class and Ms. Brown's class were able to deliver a whopping 1753 Santa letters to Macy's Monday, December 9th! That is comparable to $1753.00 that will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Ms. Baddour’s and Ms. Brown's classes thank everyone for helping them to meet and exceed their goal for their "Community Project". Thank you to all of you! May your wishes come true!
RRCSD Saves Taxpayers $1.7 Million In Bond Refunding
The Rocky River City School District has refunded $28.5 million of Build America Bonds issued in September of 2010 with tax exempt bonds, thereby saving the District and taxpayers almost $1.7 million in total by reducing the interest cost paid over the life of the bonds. The refunding of these bonds also allows the District to eliminate the uncertainty of further reductions in the interest subsidy paid by the federal government that was instituted as part of federal budget sequestration in 2013. This refunding was made possible based on a call provision that was a part of the 2010 bond issue while the significant savings were achieved due to the low interest rate environment of late as well as the District’s strong credit rating.
