2014 K-3 Literacy Data for Goldwood Primary School
The Rocky River City School District was one of two districts given the distinct honor of being spotlighted by State Superintendent Dr. Richard Ross during an ODE press conference webinar to announce the K-3 Literacy Improvement grades that will be added to the 2014 district report cards.    The K-3 Literacy Improvement Measure reports whether a district or school is making progress in improving literacy in grades kindergarten through three.  Our district was one of 27 districts state-wide to receive an “A” for this measure.   We are proud of the exemplary, hard work our Goldwood and Kensington staffs do to provide our students a solid foundation for an excellent education.  We credit these teachers, tutors and support staff, as well the support we receive from our parents and community, with our continued improvement and success.
Team Teaching Goes to the Head of The Class In Rocky River
After almost one year, the district's team-teaching program at Goldwood Primary School has earned straight A's from parents, teachers and students.
What's New In Ohio Education
The Ohio Department of Education has implemented a program that mandates all districts/schools administer a reading diagnostic assessment to all students in kindergarten through grade three by September 30th of each school year to meet the requirements of the Third Grade Reading Guarantee.  The KRA (Kindergarten Readiness Assessment) and the Reading Diagnostic for grades 1 and 2 will be given to all Goldwood students prior to September 30th.  This data will be used to identify students "Not on track" for meeting the Third Grade Reading Guarantee (TGRG). Please click on the link for information regarding ODE diagnostic assessments for grades K-2.
