Course Registration 2015/2016

The course registration process for the 2015/2016 school year is under way! On January 27th, current freshman, sophomore, and junior students heard a presentation, outlining course requirements, the scheduling process, and procedures for in-house on-line course registration. Every student received a course selection sheet, and on Friday, February 6, 2015, during their English classes, they will receive written instructions for on-line course registration, including a personalized user name and password. Students must bring their completed registration forms to English class on Friday, February 6th and complete the on-line registration process at RRHS with the assistance of a high school counselor.

Robby's Voice

Robby’s Voice is a community-based organization focused on promoting awareness and education surrounding drug addiction. After losing their son Robby to drug addiction, the Brandt family founded Robby’s Voice. Their mission is to save lives by raising awareness about addiction and by arming parents, students and communities with information to identify signs and the resources needed to live a drug free live. The Rocky River City School District is bringing Rob Brandt, Robby’s father, to present an evening program for parents, followed the next day by a program for students in grades 6-12.

Pirate Pride Award
The Pirate Pride award recognizes students who get "caught doing something good." A student may be nominated who has demonstrated a behavior that goes above and beyond the ordinary in terms of kindness, civility, or citizenship.

The Pirate Pride winner for the week of January 26th is sophomore Joseph Furry!
Mrs. Erin Voight, Joey's English teacher, nominated him saying, "Between midterms when students were navigating the hallway, I saw a student drop an item. The student went to pick it up but it got kicked down the hall by a passer-by and the student gave up trying to get it. Joey picked up the item and then jogged down the hall to catch up with the student to return the dropped item.  Joey could have easily kept walking, but he went out of his way to help another student. It was a small act, but I was touched by it!" We are all proud of Joey for his sense of kindness and responsibility.
