New Student Welcome Party
The twenty eight students new to Rocky River Middle School were invited to a party hosted by the "Be the Change" group on Thursday, October 1st in the Commons.  Everyone had fun eating pizza, chips and homemade goodies.  Some students played board and circle games while others played freeze dance and made a long conga line.  This was also a great opportunity to talk and get to know new classmates.  The members of "Be the Change" also decorated the new student lockers with welcome signs last month.

The next project for group members is participating in National Mix It Up at Lunch Day on Tuesday, October 27th.  Students will sit at round tables with assigned seat mates during lunch.  There will be music and games and questions to start discussions at the tables.  It's a fun day for the students to get to know their classmates.

"Be the Change" is an open group happy to welcome new group members at any time.  Questions?  Contact Mrs. Fancher at
French Food Festival
On Friday, October 2nd, French students helped RRMS celebrate France's Fete de la Gastronomie.  In France, this annual three day festival celebrates food and all its cultural aspects.  French students greeted others at the door on Friday morning with a wide choice of croissants, madeleines, eclairs, quiche, bread, cheese, etc.  Hopefully this little taste of France will inspire more culinary adventures!
