IMPORTANT DETAILS BELOW:

*ATTENDANCE: We thank you in advance for your commitment to our team with daily attendance.

*Team race vs Open race. Team race= top 7 fastest athletes. Open races are reserved for those athletes placing 8th or higher at the previous meet

*Athletes should always ride the bus with the team to and from every event.

*The "transportation release form" must be used in order to pull an athlete from riding the bus with the team and should be submitted in advance of the meet.

DAILY PRACTICE SCHEDULE (when school is in session):

-Mondays 3:30-5:00= core strength, long run

-Tuesdays 3:30-5:00= repeats, hills, sprint work, upper/ lower body strength training

-Wednesdays 3:30-5:00= 2 mile tempo run, core strength, course/ race tips, MITCHELL'S ICE CREAM

-Thursdays 3:30-5:00= intervals with distance, upper/ lower body strength training

-Friday mornings 7:20am-7:40am= easy run, stretching, team discussion, and team dinner on some Fridays.

*Friday practices= We run from 7:20am to 7:40am (allowing for Math review sessions and freedom on Fridays after school)  PLEASE ARRIVE BY 7:15am.

-Saturday August 26= GLC Preview

RACE LOCATION: Cahoon Park, Lake Road Bay Village (near Bay Middle School)

10:30 am MS boys, 11:00 am MS girls 

BUS DEPARTS: 9:00am ,  BUS RETURNS: 12:15ish

-Saturday September 2=  Avon Lake Early Bird Invitational 

RACE LOCATION: (LCCC) Lorain County Community College, 1005 Abbe Road, Elyria 

8:00am boys, 8:30am girls

BUS DEPARTS: 6:45am, return @9:45am-ish 

-Saturday September 9= NO MEET. RECOVERY DAY

-Thursday September 14= Avon MS Invitational- updated May 24th

RACE LOCATION: Avon's Veterans Memorial Park   

4:30 National Anthem, RACE 1 (Boys): 5:00 PM (top 7), RACE 2 (Girls): 5:30 PM (top 7), RACE 3 (Boys) OPEN: 6:00PM, RACE 4 (Girls) OPEN: 6:30PM

BUS DEPARTS: 3:30pm, returns @7:30ish

RACE LOCATION: $trong$ville High School football stadium/ athletic field area

-Saturday September 30=  OBENOUR INVITATIONAL- VERMILLION  Div II Purple Race MS 

RACE LOCATION: Vermilion HS 1250 Sanford Street  

9:30am - Boys Middle School Purple Race (Division II & III) 

10:00am - Girls Middle School Purple Race (Division II & III)

*Division II MS Purple=  Vermilion, Fairview, Bay, Brookside, Clearview, Columbia, Rocky River, Monroe Prep Academy, Langston Middle School, Perkins, Westside Christian Academy 

BUS DEPARTS: 8:00am, returns @11:15ish 

-Saturday October 7= Stow Bulldog Invitational

RACE LOCATION: Stow Silver Springs Park, 5238 Young Road   

12:30= top 7 girls, 1:00= top 7 boys, 1:30= girls open, 2:00= boys open 

BUS DEPARTS: 11:00am, returns @2:45pm-ish

-Saturday October 14= GLC CHAMPIONSHIP/ Invitational 

RACE LOCATION: Cahoon Park, Lake Road Bay Village (near Bay Middle School)

12:45= boys race, 1:20= girls race

AWARDS at 2:00 at the Bay Gazebo on the same park property (across the street from the course)

BUS DEPARTS RRMS11:00am, bus returns @2:40ish

-Monday October 16= CLEAN UNIFORM COLLECTION PARTY= Monday October 16 

Monday October 16 at 3:21pm in the RRMS West Gym. This special celebratory event will also provide athletes with an opportunity to turn in spikes, gather lost and found items from the bins, etc. Athletes could leave RRMS as early as 3:35pm. 

-FALL SPORTS BANQUET: Held on Tuesday October 17 in the RRMS COMMONS at 7:00pm. This provides a last chance to submit clean uniforms and or spikes- submit in a bag with your name on it. Cookies might be offered as a gift.

IMPORTANT DETAILS: WELCOME TO 2023 RRMS CROSS COUNTRY!!

A reminder message from Mrs. Cottell and Mr. Schultz (via FinalForms):

a. The district will send an email mid-July for  2023-2024 school year registration.  Once you received the district email that registration (now being completed in FinalForms) has opened for the 2023-2024 school year, each family is encouraged to fill out all sections of the forms. This will need to be completed by the start of the athletic season and school year.

b. In order to participate in a practice or tryout, students must have a current Emergency Medical Authorization, Physical, Concussion, Lindsay Law, and Athletic and Activities Handbook forms on file.  All of these forms should be completed/uploaded in FinalForms.  Please be sure to complete all sections ensuring you and your child have also digitally signed all sections.  In order for the Athletic department to have time to process the information, please complete by July 25, 2023 to ensure your child is able to start practice on the first day.

c. please use this link: 2023-2024 OHSAA Physical 

d. Once athletes are officially registered online, transportation fees will be charged electronically about a week after practice begins.
