Hi everyone and welcome to Rocky River's REACH Program.  My name is Brian Smith (or "Mr. Smith" if you're under four feet tall!) and I'll be filling in for Mrs. Straka this school year.  I come to Goldwood with four years of experience as a Early Intervention Specialist in Brunswick City Schools as well as one year as an LD Tutor with Parma.

I'm a strong advocate of Preschool's not only preparing students for success in Kindergarten, but for preparing them to become confident in themselves, gain independence, and most importantly, to enjoy coming to school everyday. Communication between the parents and the staff is a critical component of that, and this website is one of the many ways that we look to keep that line open. 

Finally, as a resident of Rocky River and a parent of a boy and a girl who will eventually be attending these schools much like your own children, I have a vested interest and pride in continuing the “Excellent with Distinction” rating for our school district.  At the same time, I look forward to working closely with all our REACH families in determining the best way for all of us to achieve that same level of excellence in each individual student’s lives.  Thanks and let’s make it a great year!
