Maroon & White Night

Save the Date: Friday, Feb. 28, 2025

We’ve had questions about Maroon & White Night and how it works, so here’s a quick FAQ for any parents/guardians that are new to the middle school or have not participated in the event before:

What is Maroon & White Night?

* Maroon & White Night is a carnival for RRMS students only and is RRMS PTA’s annual fundraiser.

* The funds raised during Maroon & White Night go right back into RRMS in the form of teacher grants awarded by the RRMS PTA.

How does Maroon & White Night work?

* The night of the event, students are checked in at the door by giving their name when they arrive (please note only 8th graders are admitted from 6:00-7:00pm). All students will be given their raffle tickets at check in.

* 8th graders have the building to themselves from 6:00pm-7:00pm.

* 6th and 7th graders can join the fun with the 8th graders from 7:00pm-9:30pm.

* Students are not permitted to leave the building prior to 9:30pm without their parent/guardian.

What can my student do at Maroon & White Night?

* Play carnival games in the Gym.

* Enter the raffles to win awesome prizes with winners announced at the end of the night.

* Eat and hang out with friends in the Commons while dancing to the DJ.

* Visit the Casino Room, Airbrush Tattoo Artists and Crumbl Cookie Walk.

* Visit the Photobooths and take pictures with friends.

* 8th graders, as a bonus, are entered into a lottery for a chance to visit the Escape Room

What is the itinerary for Maroon & White Night?

* 6:00pm-7:00pm: all areas open for 8th graders ONLY.

* 7:00pm-9:30pm: all areas open for grades 6-8th.

* 8:45 pm-9:00pm: students will be called by grade level to coat check to retrieve coats and head to the gym for raffle prize drawings.

* 9:00pm: Grand Prize Raffle drawings will begin in the gym.

* 9:30pm: Students are dismissed.

What if students get there before their grade's admittance time?

*Students will not be permitted to enter RRMS prior to their grade’s assigned time. Do not drop your child off prior to their scheduled time according to their grade level. We do encourage all students to arrive on time according to their grade level to maximize their time at event.

 What happens at 9:30pm?

*All students are dismissed at 9:30pm. We anticipate 450 students in attendance. Picking up your child can be hectic. If you are picking up your child after the event, we suggest a pre-arranged meeting spot. Please try to arrange carpools with other parents to minimize cars in the lot. Please be very patient and very careful in the parking lot as it will be dark and several excited children will be exiting the building.

Can my students leave Maroon & White Night prior to 9:30pm?

* We encourage kids to stay the whole time since this is the only all-school activity that takes place for our middle schoolers. Prior to 9:30pm, students will only be permitted to leave RRMS with their parent/guardian when they have seen and spoken to the administrator on duty that evening.

Remember, all donations come back directly to RRMS to help our students and staff. If you have any additional questions about the evening, please contact Noel Allender ([email protected]) and Kate Watson ([email protected])
