RIVER WASHED AWAY BY GREEN WAVE AGAIN
While River bats finally delivered some hits, Holy Name had just a bit more offense in defeating the Pirates for a second day in a row, this time by a score of 9-4.
River jumped on the board in an explosive way, as Ross Hartman hit the team's first home run of the year, a mosterous shot to left centerfield! Holy name tied the game on a leadoff home run of their own, then took the lead on a ground out
River , down 3-1  after two innings, scored three in the top of the third on three singles, a walk, and a sacrifice fly.
After the the Namers tied the game in the bottom of the third, they took the lead for good with their second home run of the game and then scored four more in the bottom of the sixth, for the final outcome
On the day, Ross Hartman went 2 for 3, while Jack White and Tommy Kelly went 2 for 4
River returns to action on Thursday when they will host Valley Forge at 430. That will also be Senior Day, as the team will honor its five Senior players and their parents

PIRATES HAMMERED BY HOLY NAME
For the second game in a row, River lost 9-1 and only garnered three hits.  Pirate bats fell silent again and four defensive errors didn't help the cause in registering their second straight loss.
The Green Wave, the #2 seed in the Tri-C District, came out swinging and tallying seven runs in the first two innings.
Ross Hartman scored the Pirates only run in the second, after doubling to right and later scoring on a sacrifice fly by Ryan Dunning
River is now 8-6 overall and 4-3 in GLC. The Pirates will travel to Kurtz Park tomorrow to take on the Namers again, in a 5p start

SCHEDULE CHANGES
Please note schedule changes for both teams due to rainouts and cancellations. Schedules on this team page are the most recent updates as of 4/10/18!!!
PIRATES BRING BAD NEWS TO BEARCATS
Rocky River baseball opened up the 2018 campaign with a rousing 20-1 win over Bedford. The Pirates took advantage of the Bearcats errors, wild pitches, walks and 11 player suspensions to win their first game of the season in eight years.
David Tucci, a last minute change at starting pitcher, gave up no earned runs in his time on the mound. Tommy Kelly pitched an inning of relief and recorded three strike outs.
River will next play on Monday , hosting the Rangers of North Ridgeville starting at 430.
JV will open their season on Monday, as well, hosting North Ridgeville
