Pirates plunder Buckeye 4-1 in CWC road test

MEDINA, Ohio (Oct. 2, 2024) -- Rocky River notched a Cleveland West Conference road victory Wednesday night. Senior Sophia Sindelar netted another multi-goal game, her eighth of the season, and the Pirates won 4-1 at Buckeye.

The River goals came from Sindelar (two), Morgan Burnett, and Rori Vesy, with Rocky River (12-0-1, 5-0-1 CWC) getting two goals in each half against one Bucks marker in the first. Sindelar, Vesy, Mia Carney, Grace Quaiser, and Addie Russell logged assists against a Buckeye (2-3-1) squad losing its fourth consecutive match. Caitlin Rose filed two saves.

Sindelar has now registered at least five points in five of the Pirates' last six matches. For the season, she has scored 28G while logging 17A (73 points).

The contest in Medina marked the first of two straight games away from home for the Pirates who are now 5-0-1 in such games this season. On Saturday, the Checkered Buccaneers will travel to Solon for a non-conference tilt against the Solon Comets.
