ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (Sept. 12, 2024) -- Rocky River dropped a Cleveland West Conference home match against Bay Thursday. The Pirates were undone in two tight sets of an eventual 3-1 loss (14-25, 22-25, 25-17, 20-25).

The Rockets out-hit River .145 to .070 in remaining unbeaten in CWC play. Rocky River's 25-17 triumph in game 3 marked just the fourth set Bay has dropped all season.

Junior Olivia Miller swatted her way to a match-high 17 kills in leading the visitors. Dating back to 2022, Bay (10-1, 6-0 CWC) has now defeated River in four straight.

The leaders for the Pirates (4-2, 4-2) were Ella Brokaw (10K, three blocks), Lilly Cupp (seven digs, six assists, three aces), Ella Duffy (9D, eight assists), and Avery Laporte (9K, 6D).

Rocky River will return to action with a Tuesday road match at North Olmsted.
