LODI, Ohio (Sept. 3, 2024) -- On Tuesday, Rocky River returned to action with a post-holiday non-conference battle at Cloverleaf. The Pirates were able to put 11 shots on frame, but only one found twine in a hard-fought 2-1 loss to the Colts.
The taut, 80-minute affair saw two goals by Cloverleaf's Isaiah Kurtz, one by River's Quentin Daily, and 10 saves by Cloverleaf goalkeeper Zac Brownson. With the home win, the Colts remained undefeated at 6-0-1. For the Pirates (3-2), the contest marked the front end of a two-day road double. Rocky River will take on Valley Forge in a Wednesday-night Cleveland West Conference match.
Daily's goal was his team-leading ninth this season.
