MEET THE PIRATES: Rocky River returns four lettermen and two starters from a squad that went 15-10 and advanced to a district tournament semifinal game last winter. The 2024-25 roster includes four seniors (Will Blough, Jackson Paige, Turner Strickland, Michael Swallow). Swallow, who was tabbed as a Great Lakes Conference West Division honorable mention last season, is the lone returnee who has earned multiple letters. He is serving as the Pirates' captain.
ON DECK: The Double-R will be competing in the newly-formed-but-GLC-adjacent Cleveland West Conference this season. Members of the eight-school circuit are Bay, Buckeye, Lakewood, Normandy, North Olmsted, Rocky River, Valley Forge, and Westlake. River's next game will mark its CWC opener: the Maroon & White will tussle in a road tilt at Buckeye on Tuesday.
