CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio (March 29, 2025) -- Rocky River was dealt its first regular-season loss since April 30, a stretch of eight games, with a Saturday setback at Walsh. The host Warriors doubled up the Pirates in shots and won 14-4.
The Maroon & White were held scoreless over the middle quarters of a game that saw them outshot 27-13 overall. Walsh won 14-of-21 draws, and controlled the game after River had taken an early 3-2 lead.
Gianna Debitetto netted five goals for the home side. Grace Cooney and Camden Miller added three goals each. Miller also filed five ground balls and four draw controls in what marked the Warriors' first win against the Pirates since 2019.
Rocky River's scorers were Grace DeWitt, Elle Mocho, and Addie Tisler. DeWitt was credited with two goals, five ground balls, and three caused turnovers.
The Pirates, who had defeated Walsh in six straight before Saturday, will look to get back to their winning ways Tuesday. River will host Olmsted Falls in a 7 p.m. Northern Ohio Lacrosse League tilt. That contest will mark Senior Night for the Maroon & White.
