ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Each month during the 2023-2024 school year, the Rocky River City School District will highlight a member of the senior class who is in the West Shore Career Technical District program to showcase pathways and possible careers.
For the month of December, we are featuring Jacob Davies, who is in the Culinary Arts program.
Jacob chose to attend West Shore because he had always wanted to work hands-on in the culinary field and West Shore was the place that allowed him to do that. The Culinary Arts program provided him with new opportunities and tasks, giving him a chance to learn new ideas and concepts about becoming a chef.
Jacob notes that the West Shore program is a once in a lifetime opportunity that provides a chance to learn about a trade that you might be interested in pursuing. You also get to meet new people and experience new things in a friendly environment.
At West Shore, Jacob is preparing to be a chef, but the program assigns him tasks in the kitchen and makes him feel like a real chef. He is grateful that all of the other students in his class are close and they have great charisma with one another.
After high school, Jacob is thinking of going to trade school, but he is unsure of what he wants to do.
