Top Spellers Compete in Spelling Bees at RRMS, KIS and GPS

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – The top spellers from Rocky River Middle School, Kensington Intermediate School and Goldwood Primary School recently competed in their respective school Spelling Bees.
 
RRMS students competed on November 20 with 7th and 8th graders taking part in a combined Spelling Bee. Eighth grader Henry Galla was the overall winner for the second straight year and will represent the district in the upcoming regional Spelling Bee. Sam Forristal was the runner-up among 8th graders. The 7th grade winner was Alexander Kouzov, while Klerisa Kaceli finished as the runner-up. In 6th grade, Oliver Church was the winner and Saya Wahl was the runner-up.
 
Goldwood 1st and 2nd graders were the next students to compete in November 27. In the 1st grade competition, Evan Patel was the winner and Calvin Dyko finished as runner-up. Ava Giammo won the 2nd grade division and Penelope Pesek was the runner-up.
 
Kensington students competed in their Spelling Bees on December 4 with Delaney Good winning the 3rd grade competition and Sunitha Skifenes placing as the runner-up. In 4th grade, Lila Hartung was the winner and Kate Fielder claimed runner-up honors. The 5th grade competition was won by Ben Church and Angie Zamcheck was the runner-up.
