Dear Rocky River City School District Community,
As you may be aware, the Rocky River City School District Board of Education has initiated a search for a successor Superintendent of Schools. To assist and counsel the Board through this process, we have retained the services of Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA), a consulting firm that specializes in assisting school boards in identifying and recruiting executive level educational leaders.
There are four phases to the HYA search process, including engagement, recruitment, selection, and transition. The engagement phase consists of designing and planning a process of engaging the Board and stakeholders through interviews, online surveys and focus groups. Information from these interactions will assist the Board in developing a leadership profile and selection criterion that match the priorities of our community and that meet the unique needs of the students who are served through the Rocky River City School District. This disciplined, inclusive, and research-based approach will be designed to ensure all stakeholders have an opportunity to be part of the search process and will provide valuable feedback about the school district that will assist the search firm in better understanding our district in the broader marketplace.
One way to participate is through the community stakeholder survey. Please offer your input by clicking the link below:
We also highly encourage you to share this link with friends, neighbors, and family members in the Rocky River community. We look forward to and encourage community involvement in the engagement phase of the search process. The survey window will be open from October 7 through October 18.
The search process will also include focus groups for parents/community, and other stakeholder groups. Focus group sessions for parents/community have been tentatively scheduled as follows:
- Wednesday, October 9 from 6 - 7 p.m. (Virtual)
- Thursday, October 10 from 7 - 8 a.m. (Virtual)
- Thursday, October 10 from 6 - 7 p.m. (Virtual)
- Friday, October 11 from 7 - 8 a.m. (Virtual)
- Wednesday, October 16 from 6 - 7 p.m in-person at the Board of Education Offices
- Thursday, October 17 from 9 - 10 a.m. in-person at the Board of Education Offices
It is our intent to keep the process transparent through updates on the district website (https://www.rrcs.org/SuperintendentSearch.aspx), district social media channels, and other community information avenues that are currently in place.
Sincerely,
The Rocky River City Schools Board of Education
