ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - The Rocky River High School and Rocky River Middle School Science Olympiad teams both qualified for the state tournament following strong performances at the Northeast Ohio Regional tournament. The high school team placed fourth overall and regionals, while the middle school team was second.
This year’s state tournament will be held on March 27 at Ohio State University.
Science Olympiad competitions have 23 events. Each event is judged individually and the team is scored as a whole. The Science Olympiad team spent September through January preparing for events that led up to the regional competition.
The mission of Science Olympiad is to inspire student interest in science outside of the school curriculum through active, hands-on participation in and exposure to STEM disciplines.
