April 3, 2023

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Rocky River High School (RRHS) senior Morgan Way recently earned the prestigious Grant Gold Cup at the Ohio Federation of Music Club’s Festival Competition that took place at Baldwin Wallace University.

The honor was achieved after accumulating more than 75 points in her 12 years of participation. Festival participants receive points based upon the adjudicated ratings, earning up to five points (superior rating) in one year. Students in high school at a higher level of music proficiency have the ability to enter the concerto event and combine up to eight additional points per year with their solo events.

Way has achieved 11 solo superiors and four concerto superiors.

Way plays the flute and piccolo in the RRHS marching band and wind ensemble and is also a member of the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony. She is also involved in Science Olympiad, Model UN, Academic Challenge and Environmental Club. Earlier this year, Way was one of eight RRHS seniors who was named a National Merit Finalist.
