COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Rocky River battled its way through a pair of hard-fought setbacks against two talented Columbus-area teams over the weekend. The Pirates dropped a 14-4 game at Columbus St. Francis Saturday and then lost to Columbus Academy by a score of 14-2 on Sunday.

The top-notch foes held the Maroon & White to just 18 shots on goal across the two games.

Over the two games, top performers for the Pirates (5-8) included Ryan Hildebrand (goal, assist, four ground balls, one caused turnover), Robby Lang (1G, 1A, 8 GB, 3 CT), and Mack Massad (1G, 9 GB).  

Rocky River is slated to play a Northern Ohio Lacrosse League game at Westlake Tuesday night.
