RR Boys' Basketball

PARMA, Ohio -- Rocky River dropped a Great Lakes Conference road game, as the Pirates fell to the Parma Redmen, 48-45, on Friday night.

The Pirates (5-7, 4-5 GLC) rallied from an eight-point, late-first-half deficit to grab a 28-25 lead early in the third quarter, but River couldn't hold on in what marked the team's second close shave against the Redmen. Parma defeated Rocky River, 56-55, in the Pirates' Dec. 8 season opener.

The Men in Maroon shot just 33.3% (15-of-45) from the field. The Pirates have now shot under 34% in each of their last six losses.

River was led by Charlie Hudson (17 points), Robby Lang (12 points, 11 rebounds), and Braedon Spies (six points, five rebounds, five steals).

The Pirates are slated to play a non-conference home game against Geneva on Saturday evening.
