Superintendent’s Message - June 2016

June, 2016

Superintendent’s Message

As the 2015-2016 school year is now complete, I want to thank our students, parents, staff, and administrators for an incredible year!

Just a few of many notes of accomplishment…

  • On June 10th we were so proud to recognize 213 graduating seniors with their diplomas. These fine graduates will leave our friendly halls behind and step into their exciting futures. We wish our graduates all the best!
  • The collaboration between the Rocky River Police Department and the Rocky River City School District allows for the DARE Program to be provided to our students since the early 1990s.
  • This year marks the end of half-day only kindergarten and opens the door in 2016-2017 to the option of all-day kindergarten.
  • The RRHS Spring Musical – Catch Me if You Can was awarded the Best Musical Tier 1 at the Dazzle Awards.
  • Several hundred students, parents, and residents enjoyed the District Art Show.
  • Vocal performances across all grades made the school year fun and memorable.
  • The All-Bands concert was terrific.
  • And assuredly, all activities, clubs, and sport teams represented the Rocky River City School District in the most positive way possible.

Best wishes for an enjoyable summer and continued educational success!

Sincerely,

Michael G. Shoaf
