ELYRIA, Ohio (Sept. 28, 2023) -- Rocky River remained undefeated this season with a 10-0 rout over an overmatched Elyria Catholic squad Thursday.

The Pirates scored seven times in the opening 17 minutes of play and plated eight goals in the opening half of what marked the team's fourth shutout.

Sophia Sindelar (three goals, assist) and Ava Patti (2G, 3A) were River's top producers in the Great Lakes Conference West Division match. Maeve Kelly added a goal and an assist.  Sophomore Haven Munk tallied her first career goal as the Pirates (11-0, 3-0 GLC West) raised their season scoring average to 6.36 goals per game. That's Rocky River's would-be program record for scoring (5.57 GPG in 2013).

The third-ranked (Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association DII State Poll) are scheduled to square off against Solon in a Monday non-conference match at home.
