FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio (Sept. 13, 2023) -- Rocky River earned a big Senior Day home win over rival Bay Wednesday. The Pirates fired a 186, toppling the Rockets (196) by 10 and running their Lake Erie Girls Golf Association mark to 9-0.

The Maroon & White were paced by senior Chloe Holton in the nine-hole match in fine autumn weather at Big Met Golf Course in the valley. Holton worked and around two double-bogeys by carding three birdies and a par en route to a 4-over 41 on the par-37, 2,906-yard inward nine on the track alongside the river with the same name as the school she had attended during the day.

River's four scorers included one other senior: Charlotte Roche shot a 53. The Pirates' other two scorers were Mia Ginnetti (45) and Julia Schmid (47).

Maddie Bigler carded a 44 to lead the Rockets.

Rocky River (14-1, 9-0 LEGGA) will continue its busy week when it competes in the LEGGA Championship Tournament on Thursday. That event will be held at Springvale Golf Club in North Olmsted. RRHS was the runner-up team in last year's tournament.
