ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (Sept. 23, 2023) -- The Pirates continued their busy, late-September stretch with a 1-0 win over Lutheran West Saturday.

Freshman Sebastian Maher scored the lone goal of the match. Senior goalkeeper Gio Lizzini was credited with four saves in helping to hold the River advantage.

The victory marked the fourth in a row for the Pirates (9-2). The Double-R has yielded just one goal over those four games.

Those four games have been played over the last eight days; River will play two more matches before Thursday to close out a span that has the squad playing six matches in 12 days. The first of those will be Monday at Keystone.
