ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - Three Rocky River High School seniors earned appointments to United States military academies. Greg Ganor will attend the U.S. Naval Academy, while Ethan Spies and Nart Yilmaz will both attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The trio was received their appointments at the RRHS Spring Recognition Ceremony on May 25.
Ganor received his appointment from Deputy AC Thomas Hinshaw. Major Charles P. Johnson presented Spies and Yilmaz with their appointments.
U.S. Service Academics are four-year postsecondary institutions that combine educational excellence with military officer training. Students must receive a Congressional nomination from either their U.S. Representative or Senator to be admitted and must meet the highly competitive educational and extracurricular standards set forth by the academies.
