RRHS Students Recognized at West Shore Career Tech Assembly

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Several students from Rocky River High School received their Career Passports at the West Shore Career-Technical District Student Recognition and Career Passport Assembly that was held on Thursday, May 11, at the Lakewood Civic Auditorium.


Career Passports are awarded to West Shore students who successfully complete their course of study. The West Shore Career-Technical District provides vocational training to students from Bay Village, Lakewood, Rocky River and Westlake.


The following students received Career Passports in their program of study:

  • Automotive Technology: Darren Au, Avery Darroch, Nicholas Decrane, Gavin Gilday, Raid Zaidawi
  • Construction: Carter Donaghue
  • Early Childhood Education: Carolyn Quinn
  • Electronic Engineering Technology: Ethan Sollars
  • Networking/Cybersecurity: Alexander Angney
  • Project Lead the Way (Pre-Engineering): Isaac Linville
  • Sports & Exercise Science: Evan Giusti
  • Theatre Arts: Samara Vasiloff


Several individuals also received special awards from the Lakewood/Rocky River Rotary Club, including Darroch who earned the Outstanding Student Award for Automotive Technology. In addition, Angney earned the Work Ethic Award for Networking and Vasiloff received the Work Ethic Award for Theatre.


Angney, Caleb Bennett, Giusti and Richard Skains were all accepted into the National Technical Honors Society.
