River rocks Raiders to open LEGGA play

RR Girls Golf

GRAFTON, Ohio (Aug. 15, 2003): Rocky River opened Lake Erie Girls Golf League play with a 203-229 win over the Columbia Raiders Wednesday.

The victory came in River's first match action of the season. A Double-R squad that went 20-1 a year ago -- including a 10-sweep in 10 LEGGA matches -- kept that roll going on the 2,670-yard, par-36 outward nine at Pine Hills Golf Links. Senior Chloe Holton carded four pars en route to a team-best 42. Fellow senior Mia Ginnetti matched the Raiders' top score (Mya Mikolak) with a 47.

River's team score was built on a 42, 47, 51, and 64.

The Pirates (1-0, 1-0 LEGGA) will be part of LEGGA tri-match at Springvale Golf Course in North Olmsted.
