PARMA, Ohio (Oct. 15, 2022) -- Rocky River scored a season-high 10 goals, as the Pirates closed out their regular season with a 10-0 shutout at Parma Saturday.

The Maroon & White got three goals each from Stephen Cain and Chris Saade. Senior captain Fionn Harte logged a goal and three assists for a River group which heads into the postseason having gone 3-1-1 over its last five games.

Will DeClerck and Gio Lizzini split minutes in goal for the Pirates. Neither was called on to make a save in what marked Rocky River's fifth shutout of the season.

The shutout wasn't the only 'O' notable in the match: the O'Neill brothers -- freshman Brady and senior Patrick -- each tallied a twine-finder in the Great Lakes Conference West Division battle at Byers Field. Patrick O'Neill also registered an assist in the contest. Also scoring for the Double-R: Zach Kern (goal, assist), Charlie Russell, and Nart Yilmaz.

The Pirates (5-6-5, 1-4-1 GLC West) are now bound for play in the Buckeye State playoffs. On Monday, River will compete in an Akron 3 District Tournament match at Gilmour. Rocky River is the No. 17 seed in Division II Region 5. The Lancers are the No. 11 seed. The winner of Monday's match will travel to No. 7 Lutheran West on Saturday.
