TIFFIN, Ohio (Sept. 10, 2022) -- The Rocky River boys competed in the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival Saturday. The Pirates posted strong finishes up and down their lineup in placing tied-for-seventh in a 29-team field. [results]

River athletes combined to notch 242 team points. The Pirates registered an average time of 16:59 in the 5k race at Hedges-Boyer Park. The Double-R scorers were Luke Dorenkott (19), Majid Abuaun (26), Ruairi Zuercher (39), Ethan Hazra (66), and Grant Preto (92).

The DI race was won by Toledo St. Francis (97 points). The event -- in its 53rd iteration -- was hosted by Tiffin Columbian High School.

The Rocky River girls team was idle Saturday.
