FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio (Sept. 13, 2022) -- Rocky River continued its winning ways Tuesday, as the Pirates downed the Fairview Warriors 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-8).

"We had a great night on serve receive," said coach Brittany Morris.

Serves banged out the other way were also a River advantage. Ella Duffy led the Pirates in that regard with a team-season-high seven aces. River had 10 aces as a team.

Box-score highlights included Ella Brokaw hitting .357 and collecting 13 kills and four total blocks. Samantha Young added 10 kills and 13 digs against just one dig error. Maggie Pfahl added 15 digs. Kylie Spies registered 18 assists.

Rocky River (6-0, 3-0 GLC West) hit .161 on the night.

The match at Fairview marked the first in a string of three straight road affairs for the Pirates. The middle match of that stretch will be at Westlake on Thursday.
