Demon-ized: Pirates fall to Westlake 10-0

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- The Pirates were held to one base hit Tuesday, as Rocky River lost to Westlake 10-0.

Demons starter Hugh Sullivan held River to a Nate Mitchell single in the sixth. Sullivan walked a batter and fanned seven. He was staked to a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Sullivan and his River opposite, Gavin O'Brien, would then toil in a 2-0 pitcher's duel until the Demons circuited the bags for five more runs in the fifth.

Westlake would run-rule the Pirates with a 3-spot in the sixth matched with a scoreless River frame.

For the game, the Demons outhit Rocky River (4-7, 1-3 Great Lakes Conference West) 12-1. The loss marked the Pirates' fifth in a row.
