Double-R doubles up, takes two at Springvale

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio -- Two matches have been played. Two victories have been earned. Rocky River swung into match play with a tri-match hosted by North Olmsted High School Thursday. The Pirates triumphed in both their matches, defeating North Olmsted 171-212 and Wellington 171-270.

Sophomore Mia Ginnetti played her first five holes 1-over par en route to a 4-over 35 to lead all competitors on the day. The matches were played on the par-35, 2,356-yard back nine at Springvale Golf Course. Ginnetti was backed up on River's top-4 scorecard by junior Chloe Holton (41), senior Nora Sheridan (43), and senior Sophia Loparo (48).

The Pirates' match against host North Olmsted was a Lake Erie Girls Golf Association match.

Rocky River (2-0, 1-0 LEGGA) is scheduled to continue its season Monday at the Hudson Invitational (Ridgewood Golf Course--Parma, Ohio).
