Pirates celebrate seniors, 19th win

RR GGLF Seniors

CLEVELAND (Sept. 28, 2022) -- Rocky River has played 20 matches this season. After Wednesday's triumph over Akron Hoban, the Pirates have won 19 of those.

On Wednesday at Little Met Golf Course -- in a windblown and rain-soaked valley bracketing the Rocky River -- the Pirates earned a 185-209 victory over the Knights.

The four top scorers for Rocky River (19-1) were Mia Ginnetti (41), Chloe Holton (46), Julia Schmid (48), and Charlotte Roche (50). Ginnetti's round included a fine 3-4-3 stretch over Little Met's run of par-3s on Nos. 5, 6, and 7. Roche's 50 marked her best round since Aug. 17 (47 at Little Met).

The Pirates' penultimate match of the season marked Senior Day for the program. Seniors Michaela Cogan, Sophia Loparo, Marin Richmond, Helen Sakai, and Nora Sheridan were honored during the event.

Rocky River is scheduled to close out its regular season with a Monday match against Midview (Brentwood Golf Course--Graton, Ohio).
