ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (Sept. 21, 2022) -- Rocky River gave a game effort but was undone by a pair of second-half goals in a 2-0 loss to the No. 2 (Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association) Bay Rockets Wednesday.

The loss in the Great Lakes Conference West Division clash marked the Pirates' fourth setback in a row. River has been held off the scoreboard in three of those games and in five of its last six.

For Rocky River (1-4-4, 0-2 GLC West), Wednesday's tilt against Bay (7-2-2, 2-0) marked the middle match of three in a row at home. The Sons of Blackbeard will close out that stretch with a non-conference game against Keystone Monday at 7 p.m.
