COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Rocky River dropped its season opener, 6-3, at Columbus Watterson Saturday.

A strong Eagles team scored the most goals by a River opponent since Sept. 21, 2016 (Holy Name 6). The Pirates' goals were netted by Taylor Byall, Maeve Kelly, and Mackenzie Russell.

The 2020 DII state semifinalist-Pirates will host their home and Great Lakes Conference opener on Wednesday (Rocky River Stadium, 7 p.m.).
