10's moments: River tallies season-high in 10-0 rout at Fairview

RR Girls' Soccer

FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio -- The Pirates scored a season-high 10 goals and earned their fifth consecutive shutout victory, as Rocky River defeated Fairview in Wednesday night Great Lakes Conference West Division action.

Eight players found twine on a night that saw Rocky River (12-2, 4-1 GLC West) notch its most goals in a single game since Aug. 28, 2013 (10 vs. Vermilion). Ava Patti and Maeve Kelly each scored two goals in the road win over the Warriors (0-11-1, 0-5). Mackenzie Russell, Taylor Byall, Sophia Sindelar, Addie Harris, Vivian Brandt, and Kylie Crane added one goal each. Russell, Sindelar, Harris, and Annika Mocho were credited with assists.

Patti's twin goals extended a scoring streak: the sophomore has now tallied a goal in four consecutive matches.

The Wednesday-night affair at Fairview High School marked the end of the GLC regular season for both teams. Rocky River finished second to 5-0 Bay in the GLC West.

River is scheduled to play a non-conference game against Clear Fork Thursday (Rocky River Stadium, 7 p.m.).
