MEDINA, Ohio -- Rocky River ended its 2021 season with a hard-fought 1-0 loss in district-tournament action at Buckeye Saturday.

The Bucks (11-3-4) scored on a penalty kick in the 33rd minute. Rocky River (7-6-5) battled the final 47 minutes in a game effort but couldn't manage a goal of its own. The Pirates' loss snapped a three-game winning streak.

Buckeye -- which is now 9-1 since Sept. 23 -- will move on to face Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary in a Tuesday semifinal.
