FAIRVIEW PARK, Ohio -- The Pirates earned a Great Lakes Conference West Division victory Thursday night, as Rocky River defeated Fairview, 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-21).

Rocky River (8-8, 4-4 GLC West) got 19 kills from Samantha Young in a taut battle that saw the Maroon & White snap a two-match losing streak. Harper Piguet and Paige Waite added five kills each. Ella Brokaw had three total blocks, and Maggie Pfahl logged 13 digs.

The River victory spelled a two-game season-series sweep of the Warriors. The Pirates downed Fairview, 3-0, at home on Sept. 14.
