Rocky River flies high in win over Eagles

RR Girls' Golf

NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio -- Rocky River leveled its season record at 3-3 with a 188-204 victory over North Olmsted Tuesday.

River reeled in a trio of sub-50 rounds on the 2,333-yard, par-35 outward nine at Springvale Golf Club. Rachel Baird carded five straight 4s to start a round that finished as a team-best 43. Baird was just 1-over par through that stretch.

Chloe Holton (45) finished as the Pirates' No. 2. Mia Ginnetti, who also had a strong start, carded a 48. Nora Sheridan (52) rounded out River's top-4.

Rachel Adams finished bogie-par-par to score a 44, which led the Eagles.

The Lake Erie Girls' Golf Association match marked the second leg of three matches in as many days for the Pirates (3-3, 3-1 LEGGA). The Swinging Corsairs will close out that late-summer trifecta with a Wednesday home match (Little Met Golf Club) against Westlake.
