ELYRIA, Ohio -- Rocky River defeated Elyria Catholic, 5-1, on Wednesday.

 

The Pirates prevailed in the Great Lakes Conference battle and kept their unbeaten streak alive. Rocky River (6-1-1, 5-0-1) hasn't lost since its Aug. 26 opener.

 

On Wednesday, the Maroon & White got first-half goals from Sophia Murray, Lizzie Hamker and Cara McKenna. The second half was a 2-for-1 trade in favor of the visiting Pirates. River's second half goals were scored by Maya Patti and Anna Sobol. The Panthers' second-half goal marked the first score they have notched in five years of GLC competition with Rocky River.
