GRAFTON, Ohio – Rocky River struggled over the 2,555-yard back nine at Pine Brook Golf Club, but the Pirates still managed a victory over the Columbia Raiders on Wednesday.
River cobbled together a four-man score of 196, and that would best Columbia’s four (218) by 22 strokes. But uncharacteristically, the Maroon & White managed just one round under 50 in the nine-hole match played in breezy conditions.
The Pirates’ four on the score sheet were Ciara Grieve (45), Kate McKeown (50), Maggie Rodgers (50) and Lexi Aguilar (51).
“Not a pretty night on the links,” offered Head Coach Rick Haag. “But we have a chance to get back to better fundamentals on Thursday.”
On Thursday, the Pirates will host Revere at Little Met Golf
Course in Fairview Park, Ohio.
