ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – The Pirates were felled at home by the defending DII state champions on Tuesday, as Holy Name beat Rocky River, 3-0.
The frequent Great Lakes Conference and district tournament foes (12 meetings since 2015) went shoulder-to-shoulder at the net for sets one and two before the Green Wave won the third set in decisive fashion. Holy Name’s winning score was 25-18, 25-18, 25-12.

Tuesday’s loss snapped a three-game conference win streak for the Pirates (3-3, 3-1 GLC).
