ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- The unbeaten Rocky River Pirates remained just that with a 7-0 victory over the Parma Redmen on Monday night.

Rocky River (11-0-2, 6-0-1 Great Lakes Conference) posted its highest single-match goal total since Aug. 31 (nine vs. Fairview). The win at Rocky River Stadium extended River's 2020 home mark to 7-0-1. Overall, the fourth-ranked (DII Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association) Pirates are now 8-0 since Sept. 12.

On Monday against Parma, the Pirates struck early and never looked back. River scored its first goal 43 seconds into the match. 

Filing figures in the stat sheet (unofficial) were Ava Patti (two goals, assist), Maya Patti (goal, assist), Mackenzie Russell (two assists), Taylor Byall (goal), Bella Compton (goal), Madeline Lundin (goal), Keira Vesy (assist), Cecilia Wischmeier (assist), Sophia Murray (goal), and Bella Hunt (assist).

Monday's action continued what has been a one-sided series since Rocky River and Parma became GLC combatants in 2015. Since that inaugural year for the circuit, the Pirates are 6-0 against the Redmen, and River has outscored Parma, 40-1.

With the 7-0 victory, Rocky River has now logged 10 shutouts this season.

The Maroon & White are scheduled to play at home again on Wednesday when they host Holy Name (6 p.m. kickoff).

SUNNY SIDE OF THE STREAK: The Pirates' 13-match unbeaten streak is the tied (2011) for the fourth-longest in program history. As a season-opening streak, the run is tied for second (2011).

MYA-LSTONES: Maya Patti's goal -- assisted by younger sister Ava -- marked the 40th of her career. She passed Emily Soltes (2012-15) and moved into seventh place of the program's all-time scoring list. With her three points, Maya Patti ups her career total to 104, moving past Olivia McDonald (2014-17) on River's all-time points list.
