RR Girls' Soccer

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- A four-goal outburst by freshman Ava Patti paced the Pirates, as Rocky River remained unbeaten on the season with a 6-0 victory over the Laurel Gators on Friday.

The Pirates (9-0-2) got four goals from Patti and two from junior Taylor Byall in a Rocky River Stadium contest that marked River's eighth clean sheet of the season. No. 5 (DII Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association) Rocky River has now won six straight matches. Over that stretch, the Double-R has outscored foes, 15-1.

On Friday, River assists were logged by Addie Harris, Mia Kelly, Sophia Murray, and Maya Patti (three). With her quartet of scores in the match, Ava Patti now has a team-high 11 goals on the season.

Senior goalkeeper Sabrina Rick was unbothered in posting the 20th shutout of her career.

The Pirates' 11-game unbeaten streak is tied for the program's fifth-longest in its history. The Maroon & White will put that streak on the line with another home game on Saturday. The opponent for River is a mirror-image fifth-ranked (DI OSSCA ) Columbus Watterson squad. The Pirates and Eagles are slated to kick off their Saturday matinee at 4 p.m.
